Sushi the Seawing

This character was inspired by the Wings of Fire book series by Tui T. Sutherland.

BIO
Sushi is one of the chefs for Queen Coral in the Summer Palace...Up until its destruction, but since then had been moved to the Deep Palace.  She was one of the best, and even received personal recognition from the Queen herself on several occasions (most of which happened before the Sandwing War started, and the supposed curse of the Seawing Throne started spreading.  Sushi has got a lot of experience in preparing raw fish from ordinary sardines, to Red Snappers, and even anchovies.  Her favorites include shrimp, Dab, and Olive Flounder meat, as she feels that gives her dishes the best taste.  Sometimes she'll go more exotic, but that has to be special ordered by the customer weeks in advance because the ingredients and fish are not always easy to come by.

BACKSTORY
Sushi was born into a fairly average family of Seawings, though Sushi doesn't have any brothers or sisters, she was happy all the same.  She loved going out of her home and chasing the Clownfish, racing through the anemones and urchins (though she got pretty pricked up a lot whenever she did this), and she loved to eat any fish she could catch.  When she was a dragonet of about seven, she gained an interest in preparing sushy.  Her mother and father helped to support this by providing kelp, seaweed, and other fish needed to make it.  It took a lot of trial and error over several years before she had finally mastered the art of preparing it.  When she was 20, she finally achieved her dream of becoming a chef in the palace, and her parents couldn't have been more proud of her.  Queen Coral loved it and she even made it available to all the visiting tribes, who also loved it, even Blister surprisingly, and while Sushi never liked Blister, she did respect the royalty because there wasn't a lot she should do against her anyway, and she didn't want to get herself in trouble.

She was about twenty-five when Sashimi's egg was left on the palace's doorstep, and Queen Coral personally gave it to Sushi to raise as her own.  Sushi had wanted to have a child, and had a loving husband at the time, but soon discovered that she was infertile meaning that she couldn't bear any children of her own, so she gladly accepted the egg.

She was quite proud when Sashimi also landed a job in the palace, (even though this was shortly after things started to fall apart.  Queen Coral's heirs started dying, Blister was manipulating the Queen, and there was nothing that either of them could do.

This went on for a long time until Tsunami came and helped turn everything around.

Sushi is still at the palace to this day, and loves working for the Queen.

ABILITIES
She has some very unique powers.  She can see bacteria if she looks really closely on a fish, and if there is too much on it, she immediately throws it out and pulls out  a fresh batch.  She has been making sushi for a long time that sometimes she'll even prepare it for scavengers on the surface.  (She's friendly towards scavengers by the way).

She is also very skilled with her knives.  Her claws aren't as sharp as Sashimi's, but she doesn't need them to be.

STRENGTHS
A decent fighter.  Sushi has had to fight her way out of a nasty situation.  She found that she's highly resistant to Sandwing Poison, when she was stung by Blister.  She was lucky Sashimi was in the area with his magic bucket to save her life.  Sushi is also pretty fast for a  Seawing, then again sushi is fast food, so she's had plenty of practice being quick but efficient.
