My mom got Frozen on DVD and Blu-Ray the other day, and we just watched it today.  I still stand by what I said about Disney still having the magic it did as I was growing up.  I know there are a lot of folks who say Disney is overrated, and I do understand the criticism, but Frozen does hold up alongside the classics I grew up with.

But that's not the topic of this journal.  I'm gonna talk about the bonus features that came with it.

Now, it had the movie, and even the mini-movie that showed before it in theaters, and it had a Making Of Feature.
Now I know what you're thinking.  Who really cares to see how movies are made?
I am a person who likes going behind the scenes to see all the work that goes into something like this.

When my mom selected the feature on the DVD, I was expecting cast interviews, concept art, early animation tests, theatrical trailers, etc.  Instead what we got was a two-minute musical number that didn't have ANY of those features mentioned.

Disney, when I want to see a "Making of" feature on the DVD, I WANT TO SEE A MAKING OF FEATURE ON THE DVD!!

I mean yes, I know the basics of how an animated movie is made, but even still.  A musical number taking the place of a "Making Of" feature is not an acceptable alternative.  I want to see how the movie is made.  I don't want a musical number telling me absolutely nothing.

Needless to say, that was a huge disappointment and Disney should be ashamed of themselves.  They can still be proud of the movie, because it was amazing and deserved the Golden Globe for Best Picture and Oscar for Best Song.  But the Making Of feature falls flat on its face.

That is all.

Disney ALWAYS has that magical touch with their movies.
