Bolero the A Capella Pony

NAME:  Bolero

BACKSTORY
Bolero came from a very mean and abusive mother.  He couldn't do anything to please her, and whenever he thought something did make her happy, she always crushed it, and his dreams right in front of him.  One day, she met her end by falling into a river and drowning, leaving Bolero with his father, who was much better.  Bolero learned the art of A Capella singing at an early age.  He and his dad loved to beat-box, and have contests to see who could hold it the longest.  Over time Bolero improved and was soon able to beat his dad at the game.  Sadly though, soon his father's life was taken when he was hit by a runaway bus and killed on impact, and even if his dad survived the collision, he wouldn't have survived being sucked under the wheels.

Since his father's death, Bolero has gone to many places to help him get over his depression, and often times that got him in a lot of trouble.  He would go to bars and drink, but eventually it became too much for him.  He was able to quit cold turkey though, and decided to use the talents he had learned from his father to apply to be an A Capella singer, since he was really good at it.  It turned out that Chorale was performing at one of the bars he visited one day, and he dropped the question on the spot.  Chorale was impressed, and let him join.

PERSONALITY
Despite being somewhat raised by an abusive mother, Bolero has a strong spirit burning within his body that not even the coldest, darkest hearts could ever kill it.  He has alot of pride to keep him going, and the memory of the good times he had with his father have been giving him great courage to sing in front of large crowds.

STRENGTHS
Because of all the abuse he took as a child, Bolero's body is hard to damage, and he can deal just as much punishment as he can take.  However, he's a pony who prefers to avoid fighting if at all possible, and for the most part, his singing voice has been known to turn away any would-be muggers.

WEAKNESSES
Pride.  He has a problem with his pride.  Especially when he thinks he's better than everyone else, including Chorale.  On the other hand, he sometimes sees people as better than he is, and he gets nervous.  It really depends on the situation.  He has learned to cope with this weakness, and use it to great effect.  For example, whenever he sees someone who is lower in skill to him, he will offer friendly advice so that they can improve themselves.  The reverse is true for people he thinks are better than him.  He will give himself the same advice.
